ABOUT NATALIE
While living in Brazil and learning the Portuguese language, I discovered the word, “Saudade”.
Saudade : a profound, melancholic longing to be near again to something or someone distant. The desire to relive experiences, or moments, that have already passed.
The English language doesn't have a direct translation for this word. It felt so magical understanding Saudade, as it so clearly sums up my intentions in my work. I am always looking for an authentic connection or emotion that we will carry with us in our memories.
Using this concept through storytelling about a product or a brand and evoking the same emotions, creates a sense of familiarity in the brand, making it memorable and recognizable. Headshots and studio imagery are about creating an authentic expression, making the subject relatable, not overly perfect, polished, or overly edited. A successful headshot with this idea can make a candidate seem approachable and trustworthy for a position or project. It is imagery that your co-workers will remember.
